Larb Gai

Welcome to Thai week at I Eat What I Want!

I shared a dish of larb gai with my darling a few weeks ago at a Thai restaurant in Alexandria. It was spicy and tangy, with hints of vinegar and the strong taste of onion and garlic – two flavors that make anything more delicious. This is a dish I had had before, mostly by mistake, since I used to be a vegetarian. I even encountered it in Thailand when I went there to become a Buddhist monk six years ago. It is to chicken salad what Thai papaya salad is to our American fruit salad. Yes, it will open your eyes to new types of deliciousness.
