Swedish Meatballs at Ikea

I went to Ikea in College Park, MD with Beautiful Girlfriend to get some sensible Swedish furniture but before shopping in the rat maze that is the store, we sat down to a couple plates of Swedish meatballs. I had never had these before, which seemed to surprise surprise BG, and she got to hear me talk with great fervor and excitement on the way to the store about what I knew I was going to have for lunch.

BG had described these as Salisbury steak in ball form, and I have to agree. The balls were certainly tasty, even delicious, but by no means fancy. And the gravy – yum. I think almost anything could be improved by being slathered in gravy. Good job, Ikea. The only thing lacking was some charming Swedish name like Umlat or Svaldbjorn. You really should have a better name for your Swedish meatballs.
