Macaroni with Hot Dog Chunks

November 15, 2011 § Leave a comment

While looking online for recipes to use all my excess leftover hot dogs, I came upon one for macaroni and cheese with cut up franks. Sounded good, I figured. Seems like it should be a standard in American fare, but I had never heard of doing this before, although the classic grilled bologna and cheese sandwich is essentially the same thing.

You should try this. Slice up as many hot dogs as you want into small pieces. I used two hot dogs because that’s just how I roll. Heat them in the microwave, and add them to your cooked macaroni and cheese. Mix the hell out of it and enjoy. In truth, the combination was nothing spectacular, but it was good, solid, hearty food and great for a cold and wet day.
